Behind the World

The Place Where Stories Come From

Dresdencline didn’t arrive fully formed. It grew, slowly, stubbornly, over decades.

Those four years in Northern Idaho planted the seed. The isolation, the forests, the dirt roads of my subdivision that felt like a town all on its own. I let that landscape simmer for years before recognizing what it wanted to become: a hidden magical community where Celtic festivals structure time and elemental magic runs through blood.

Then came the harder question. What if Satan wasn’t purely the villain he’s made out to be? What if love shaped him as much as hate?

The world expanded to hold these contradictions. Fiddler’s Bend’s shops opened one by one. The creatures found their places. Travis started walking its streets, unaware of his own secrets.

This is where it all began. The chaos. The magic. The stories.
